Out latest community project has accelerated the success of a local scout group’s first ever camping trip to Snowdonia.
As a dedicated champion of ‘putting something back’, when we heard that Church Fenton scouts needed support for the expedition we fuelled a minibus for the Wetherby-based group.
Armed with our newly launched prepaid RightPay fuel card, the seven-strong troop of youngsters and three scout leaders had £300 worth of diesel for their adventure.
Adam Walsh, business director of The Right Fuelcard Company (TRFC), which runs our Foundation, says: “We wholly support the idea of encouraging young people to embark on informative and enjoyable outdoor activities and were very happy to help out.”
Scout leader, Sally Tindall, adds: “We can’t thank The Right Fuelcard Company enough for making our limited budget stretch a lot further. The fuel card was easy and convenient to use as the price was fixed wherever we went. It was easy to find stations that accepted the card thanks to the handy site locator available on the RightPay website. The scouts had a great time and came back buzzing with what they had seen and done.”
TRFC, which was ranked 33rd in the Sunday Times Best 100 Small Companies to Work For in 2016, runs a vibrant charity and community support programme, raising almost £3,300 since 2013 for Leeds Children’s Charity alone.
On two separate occasions over the past few months, two groups of TRFC employees helped to improve a community centre garden run by Leeds charity OPAL, which supports older people to live happy, healthy, informed lives in their own homes.
The business encourages staff to work with good causes, with all employees given a working day off each calendar year to provide practical help or raise funds for a charity of their choice.
