Our Business Director is ‘Highly Commended’ by the Institute of Directors

In the same week that we were commended for our commitment to create jobs for the long-term unemployed, our Business Director, Adam Walsh, was highly commended in the IoD Director of the Year Awards Yorkshire & North East.

Adam, the driving force behind the phenomenal success of our fantastic company, was shortlisted in the Young Director of the Year category.

Celebrating and acknowledging the region’s best companies, the IoD awards are a coveted honour for outstanding business professionals and commendations were not given for every category.

We’ve enjoyed a series of momentous milestones since Adam came on board in September 2011. They include The Right Fuelcard Company (TRFC), which runs our foundation, receiving an IiP accreditation and being ranked 33 in the Sunday Times Best Small Companies to Work For (2016) with a 3 star Best Companies Accreditation.

Building a great senior management team which leads from the front, Adam has also introduced a coaching culture which enables our employees – who refer to our business as their ‘second home’ – to reach their full potential.

Just days before the IoD accolade, our foundation and TRFC were jointly recognised in the SME of the Year category at the Employment Related Services Association (ERSA) Employability Awards 2017  where commendations were also given only to outstanding finalists. The honour recognised how we continue to create opportunities for disadvantaged and long-term unemployed jobseekers.

Adam says: “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all IoD award winners. The double IoD and ERSA honours are well deserved acknowledgements of the commitment and determination of everybody in our team.

“Together, we have made a great success of our progressive and transparent HR strategy, which taps into the talents of excluded groups, including ex-offenders, long-term unemployed, young people with no work experience – and ex-military personnel.”
