As a business that is always concerned with employee wellbeing, we are delighted that an in-house fitness scheme devised by Chantelle Robinson has transformed into a drive to boost community health.

Health-conscious Chantelle, who assists Bayford Foundation manager, Nick Elletson, with data management, started a Fit Club at work after Christmas. Encouraging colleagues to lose weight by contributing to a cash prize for the one who shed most pounds, it also celebrated National Yoga Day on June 21st, when the team took part in a morning session in the office.

Fit Club proved so popular that Chantelle decided it would be a positive step to do something more active.

So enlisting The Right Fuelcard Company (TRFC) sales team member, Leanne Bennett, as an instructor, she launched a Boot Camp, which meets at local Rugby League club, the Beeston Broncos, every Monday evening between 6.00-7.30pm.

It began with just four work colleagues attending when it launched in the spring and has grown in popularity in the intervening months and attracted members of the community to come along for the intensive one-and-a-half hour weekly sessions.

Chantelle enthuses: “As well as helping the public stay fit, the £1.50 fee contributes to funds for the Beeston Broncos’ facilities – particularly children’s training. Boot Camp has also promoted awareness by bringing people along to the grounds.”

Boot Camp has run at the side of the pitch since it started, where experienced instructor, Leanne, puts a core following of 20 through their paces. Now, with the gathering evenings she and Chantelle are seeking a suitable indoor venue.

Says Nick Elletson: “Chantelle and Leanne are great examples of the sort of lively, engaged staff on our teams. As we have many local community ties, we are delighted that having encouraged the original Fit Club effort it has developed into something that the public can enjoy and take benefit from too.”

Anyone who wishes to suggest an indoor winter venue for Boot Camp can contact Chantelle or Leanne.

We’re always on the lookout for great people to join our training programme, which could lead to a full time role with The Right Fuelcard Company. For more information on The Bayford Foundation and job opportunities available, visit www.bayfordfoundation.co.uk or call 0113 202 5129.
