We’re celebrating another great career progression

It’s congratulations time once again as we report on the progress of another fantastic trainee who has successfully graduated from the Bayford Foundation.

After undergoing seven months training and learning at the foundation, 20-year-old Adam Simpson of Leeds is about to step into his new role as an oil trader with the sales team.

To prepare for it, he worked in data cleansing – a development period that sharpens the all- important phone skills, customer relations talents and confidence for successful salespeople.

Adam was referred to the foundation by one of our partners, Interserve, a DWP contractor that matches people to suitable roles. He had been unemployed for a year after achieving excellent A level grades in IT and Business Studies.

After a group interview and one-on-one session with foundation manager, Nick Elletson, Adam was offered a place on the training course – being considered very bright and having lots of potential.

Says Adam: “I couldn’t believe what a positive learning experience the foundation has been. Not only are the skills you acquire really relevant to the next stage, it is a fun process and a great atmosphere.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better manager in Nick and a better company in my first job and would encourage anyone at Interserve to refer more people to what is undoubtedly one of the best places to work.”

By the time he passed his probation in August, Adam was helping new starters to find their feet on the training programme. He was assessed as being ready for direct sales, although he stresses that the decision is ultimately the trainee’s – and that they make the move only when they feel the time is right.

Nick Elletson adds: “We’re very proud of Adam’s success and delighted that he’s ensuring his future by progressing into a career path with the dynamic sales team. He stood out as an excellent candidate and has worked hard to live up that promise.”
