You could have heard a pin drop as everyone waited with bated breath at the special closing ceremony of our vibrant sporting challenge as the winners were announced.
Representing America/Samoa, Sweden, Peru, Democratic Republic of Congo, South Africa and Liberia, each team featured a cross section of TRFC and foundation staff from different work areas.
New starters were deliberately placed with people they don’t work with, to enable them to get to know colleagues from other departments. Every day, each squad member was assigned an event – competing at pool, table football, darts, Xbox, crazy golf or bean-bag throwing. For heightened anticipation and excitement, the daily competition timetable wasn’t announced until the morning of the challenge.
Organised by Craig from the credit team and Victoria of sales – another BIG ‘thank you’ to them for all their hard work – the sporting extravaganza was a great teambuilding exercise that continues to make us a friendly, fun place to work with an unbeatable team spirit.
Peru clinched the top spot with Democratic Republic taking second place and South Africa finishing third and jubilant squad members were presented with commemorative medals.
The closing ceremony was timed to follow our quarterly business update, which covered our year end and reported another strong 12 months with healthy growth. TRFC is marking its highest ever growth – with teambuilding exercises such as this contributing to the friendly, enabling culture that powers our business performance.
Our Harrogate and York offices travelled over for the special event and everyone was treated to an evening at Roxy Lanes Leeds – a boutique bowling alley and cocktail bar – as a special thank you for all contribution and input. The friendly rivalry continued as the scrumptious food and cocktails were enjoyed.
Says Craig: “The whole point of the event was to bring people from different parts of the office together as a team to get everyone working together – and this was a huge success.”
Enthuses Victoria: “We got to see how competitive people are, which was great to see. They really took to the spirit of the occasion.”
We’re always on the lookout for great people to join our teams who work across Leeds, York and Harrogate. For more information on The Bayford Foundation and job opportunities available, visit http://www.bayfordfoundation.co.uk or call 0113 202 5129.
